Yesterday we got to take a look at our baby-to-be. The appointment was scheduled to last about 45 minutes, but took over an hour and a half. Our little stinker wouldn’t hold still long enough for the tech to easily capture all of the necessary measurements, so the nickname “Flipper” was born. Here she is!
The tech did eventually get all she needed, including the shot that proved Flipper is a Miss. A little lady. A baby girl.
Due date is still August 9(-ish), and baby is measuring within normal parameters on all counts. We were very relieved to see that our child was nothing more and nothing less than totally average. She was waving her hands in front of her face, extending all her fingers for a very sweet little high-five. As of yesterday, she was all of 9 ounces, and her feet were at the very tip top of her living space.
Next week marks the HALFWAY POINT … 20 weeks!! I am very excited to think that I will soon have fewer weeks ahead of me than behind me, weeks that will hopefully be full of sunnier and longer days. I am also committing to appearing here much more frequently, hopefully the equivalent of once per day, in order to document this crazy time. I would especially like to take on the 365 Project challenge of taking one photo per day for a year. I certainly have the material and the venue, and I’m pretty sure that I have the motivation. Huzzah!
